Hi! I’m Doug.

Ever found yourself overwhelmed by drumming gear options or online courses that don’t deliver? I’ve been there too.

My name is Doug. I’m a drummer and tech enthusiast living in Washington, DC. This website brings together both of those passions to help you find the resources that will truly advance your drumming journey.

I’ve long wanted to create an Affiliate Marketing website.[1] I figured I knew how to build websites, so it ought to be easy enough, but I always hit a wall because I couldn’t figure out what to make the website about. Most affiliate sites are about watches or the best toothbrushes in 2025! I don’t know anything about that stuff.

What I do know about is drumming. I’ve been playing the drums since I was ten (there’s no need to know how long ago that was!). I’ve studied all the books, watched hours of YouTube videos, and taken plenty of online courses. I’ve performed with jazz combos and rock bands throughout the DC area, focusing primarily on groove-based styles while dabbling in everything from Latin percussion to metal. And I’ve learned a great deal from these resources—both what works and what doesn’t.

That is what I know about, and so that is what this website is about: cutting through the noise to highlight only the training materials, gear, and resources that genuinely help drummers improve.

I pledge not to review or recommend any book, course, or resource that I have not used and worked with myself. I will let you know whenever I include an affiliate link. If you click through and purchase something, and I make a few cents because of that, well, thank you.

In the coming months, you can expect weekly reviews of drumming resources, occasional technique demonstrations, and interviews with other drummers about their learning journeys. My goal is to build a trusted hub where drummers at all levels can find honest guidance on the best ways to improve their skills.
